I get frustrated even trying to pay for a subscription, only to find that I’m being gatekept at 720p/1080p for deigning to use my browser on PC.

Big screens have gotten easy to mass produce, I guess. I don’t even have space for a TV in my tiny space, but honestly I don’t see the need for a huge screen and the works anyway. Easier to keep things simple. I’m thinking of upgrading to a 32" 4K monitor and calling it a day. Pretty reasonable prices too on secondhand markets.

I mean, 30-something is more than sufficient for my needs, and you can get monitors in that range.

Huh, never conceived of it that way. I was stellar in secondary school, burnt out in university and crashed out in post-grad plans/attempts. Still trying to revisit those, but have to go at a slower pace.

I’ve felt like my brain just works… slowly. But I also seem to be pretty good at learning/picking up new things, because the novelty is key. That is definitely a helpful way to reframe it!

I agree with the criticisms below about methodology; IQ is ultimately a measure of how good you are at those particular tests. And multiple skillsets are tested. But it is valuable when you’re talking about general trends or having a concrete point of comparison (for example, a certain individual compared to the general population).

I’ve always liked the left-handedness analogy, but I am definitely stealing the stars one as well. It’s very pithy.
