You’re dedicating a lot of effort to something you don’t like by commenting like 4-5 times.
If you don’t like it, downvote and move on. Thats the way Lemmy works.

I don’t see anything in the post that suggests it is sponsored. The authors name is clearly listed at the bottom as a writer for Parade who covers certain topics. Just because news happens that involves certain brands doesn’t mean it’s an advertisement.

I am not in the wrong. Removing posts based on mod opinion is an abuse of power. There is no rule that this post violates. You are just power tripping.
You say I’m wrong, but never have a good reason.

I commend you for restoring the post as it is from a news publication and this is a news community. If you do not like the post, vote your preference, but I think all who file false reports for things that they should in fact remedy by voting should be banned. Reporting should not be a way to downvote.

It’s a news article in a news publication. This is a news community.

I find the story endearing, if only because Staples is almost dead as a brand and this trans girl is giving them a shot in the arm and making them cool again. All of this is happening during the dark ages of DEI when Republicans are sharpening their knives for such people and brands have backed away from LGBTQ representation after what happened with Bud Light.
Many things can be true depending on the narrative you choose. But, damn, some times you gotta look for a little light.

I see a story about someone who is likely LGBTQ getting support from a prominent brand during peak anti-DEI days.

This story is not what you’re claiming it is

I get that there are issues. But, if GrapheneOS wants a partner that shares FOSS values, why not work through those? You’ve got a company that is probably like 90% of the way there vs. one that is just another corporate behemoth. Help the good guys get that extra 10%. Also, most of the complaints in that post are about /e/OS and not Fairphone, so would be mitigated just by virtue of using GrapheneOS instead of /e/OS

Why not fairphone?

In practice this app competes with StandardNotes and Notesnook. People using those might be interested in switching, but they’ll want encryption as a feature of the app.

I don’t want to run my own instance. That requires time and money.

lemmy.zip has so far been chill. Lemmy world is in practice run by a small group of overbearing mods that remove posts they personally don’t like as opposed to just letting the community decide, even when no community rules have been broken. They also defederate and block other instances aggressively. I don’t like my instance to censor things I want access to.

It’s a pretty polished notes app, though couldn’t see that it supports encryption.

Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, Grok are all okay with AI killing people and mass surveilling Americans I guess.

I like Touch ID better. I wish iPhones still had Touch ID.

You disagree that the president should follow the constitution and seek congressional approval for war?
Unfortunately for them, Trump likes soldiers who didn’t get killed in war.
