as a dark mode enjoyer, as I grow older I found that I prefer not pure black for the background, and not pure white for the text. sometimes google did well in the case of material UI guideline in the beginning. they set that the background is almost black gray and the text some kind of offwhite IIRC. Back then I disliked it but now I understand the decision.

if a website or app is designed with dark mode in the first place I found that it is a lot more calming to me to look at it a long time. although for eink and similar technology displays, I still prefer traditional black text In white.

Judging from the available pictures in the article, I assume it will be as thick as the ultra phones from vivo, oppo, etc with their camera mega island / stove top. So as thick as the phone’s thinnest side.

If I’m on the receiving end of that, I’d flip a coin or roll a dice for a decision. If I don’t like it, I pick the other (two choices, coin flip), or reroll (more than two, dice roll). IDK where I heard this tip before but I really like it. Of course I only mostly do this for trivial stuff like where/what to eat, where to hang out at, etc.

In English class (am not from English speaking country) and exams, I always pick the fiction essay category. The school here (back 20 years ago, dunno how they do it now) has formatted essays (like writing a (in)formal letter, or a report) choice for easy marks. I don’t like writing those. For what it’s worth, I got on average A’s on my English exams. There’s a minimum word count to reach for free essays, and I used to get comments from my teacher to cut it short and not go past double the word count lol. Sadly I don’t remember what that word count was. I am very thankful for my teacher for encouraging my class to read and practice writing English so much. I even have a pocket thesaurus/dictionary I carry everywhere back then alongside whatever novel I was reading that time.

Point is, idk what my point is lol. Just sharing.

Edit: so okay maybe a point can be said about interest of the topic in writing (essays). I did bad on any other topic essays (geography, history, not science though I scored those essays).

Another app that allows tagging users is Interstellar. The neat thing with Interstellar is it has built in comments consolidation with posts that are cross-posted or are link posts with the same link. Pretty neat because even on a piefed based instance consolidation doesn’t work if you’re not using the web UI.
