They do federate, so that I can see reactions from other PieFed instances just fine. But Lemmy does not use the data for anything. It just passes it on for whoever can use it.
I was asking specifically about other “platforms” besides piefed because I’m curious how supported are emoji reactions across the fediverse. I had around a year of break form the fediverse so I’m a bit ootl on recent developments.
@Martineski@Tuuktuuk I know Pleroma (and its derrivatives: Soapbox, Nicolium, , Akkorma) have for many years now. Friendica recently added limited support. Nostr does, but I’m not sure if its federates across the bridge. I suspect Misskey does, but I’ve never actually used it. That’s all I can think of off-hand.
@Martineski@Tuuktuuk actually Nostr must federate it across the bridge, because you can connect your Pleroma account to a lightning wallet and then use the ⚡react to send/receive zaps (bitcoin microtransactions) over NOSTR.

I am fairly certain no other platforms support them at the moment.
