"A scrimmage in a Border Station
A canter down some dark defile
Two thousand pounds of education
Drops to a ten-rupee jezail
The Crammer’s boast, the Squadron’s pride,
Shot like a rabbit in a ride!"
I love that the first thing Sherlock Holmes figured out about Watson, within seconds of meeting him, was that he was an Afghan vet. Really helped put my pointless wars in perspective.
How miserable would a kilt be in Afghanistan? It seems like the polar opposite clothing for the area.
In northern Iraq I hung my laundry between two eucalyptus trees. My last go around in Baghdad it snowed. Weather will surprise you. I think the freedom of movement over rocks would make the kilt a solid choice, assuming weather agrees.
Sounds less terrible than swamp ass and bollocks, if you ask me.
