Shit, I might just pick one up.
Great to see this feature coming back, now do this for a phone and add back removable SD card.
Still haven’t found a use for a non e-ink tablet…

https://www.gigaset.com/at_de/gigaset-gx6/It baffles me that removable battery is a default feature for rugged phones (with a high waterproof rating), but manufacturers claim “normal” phones can’t have replaceable batteries because then they wouldn’t be waterproof 🤷♂️
Last time I touched a Samsung Galaxy Tab Active (also rugged) it had removable batteries too (And could run on power without battery connected). Isn’t that standard for rugged tabs?
I mean, to be fair to the headline, it does say most [unqualified] Android tablets, not all tablets or just rugged tablets. Maybe a tiny bit misleading but not outright false either.
B-b-but everyone said it’s impossible to make batteries removable, devices will just die in seconds from the first spec of dust!
Right?
I have 3 Galaxy S4’s in a box that boot fine, and probably 4 of the Mini’s.
Don’t forget the S5 has a removable back AND waterproofing!
And an IR blaster. And a proper status and notification LED. And an SD card slot.
Companies really lost the way.
