Sometimes when I’m cropping a meme to make it better for posting(remove water marks or peoples names). I’m asked by my phone if I want to increase the resolution so the picture is more clear. Every time I’ve done this I get comments about my post being AI slop. Related?
It’s possible that your phone uses AI upscaling, yes. Upscaling an image means increasing the number of pixels, which involves guessing what color these pixels should be, and that’s often done with.AI. Like other generative AIs, it can be wrong and cause aberrations.
Removing the creators name/watermark isn’t going to help matters
I’m gonna guess thats what’s happening. Ill just say no every time so I hopefully dont get the ai slop comments. I’ve never used Ai to generate a meme or intentionally used a meme I knew was Ai. Although, it is kinda funny to see what ruffles feathers.
The example posted by other shows an AI upscaled picture. Maybe, use a better model or app if you want to upscale a picture.
Its just whatever my gallery is on my phone, I think its just gallary. I appreciate your insight.
Just don’t upscale it. Say no when it asks. Post it as is.
