Microsoft Edge's new feature will force it to appear every time you turn on your Windows 11 PC

A new update now in testing sets Edge to automatically appear at startup, and you are forced to opt-out if you don't want it.

Let me get this straight: Windows 11 already artificially delays launching your chosen start-up programs, but now Edge will open itself immediately on startup?

Great job, Microsoft. Keep having your cake and eating it. It’s not like Windows 11 is already hemorrhaging its userbase to Windows 10 or anything.

Getting edged by Microsoft whenever I boot is not my ideal PC experience.

It’s cute when you search for Firefox in Edge and it begs you to reconsider. It’ll be less cute with it won’t let you.

Microsoft would also like Edge to pester you with subscription offers and upgrade opportunities.
