Just amused to see two Greater Spotted Woodpeckers competing to peck at a tree (I think one is female, one male, from the nek markings)

I was just about to ask if it was 1m 1f basedon the neck markings, but you already saw that 🙂 I love opportunities to see birds doing courtship behaviours together. Cornell live cams just posted an adorable video of ravens courting at a bird feeder which was unexpectedly cute.
Were these two doing anything soecial together?
Nothing more that I could see - this was somewhat distant, but the male flew up, both pecked for a short while, then the female flew off. They were clearly aware of each other
