      OK, so my history teacher was an even bigger idiot than I thought, because she taught us about Constantinople being in the Asian part of modern day Turkey.

        As a matter of technicality, it is. As Constantinople has neighborhoods on both sides of the strait, it’s considered both European and Asian. A city of two continents.
