I don’t know how this comment makes me feel because even people at the displacement shelters here in Lebanon are excited to watch the World Cup.
I feel like a lot of people, especially Americans who do not care for football, underestimate how universal this is. It’s much more honest of a distraction from the horrors of life than corpo pop culture
I remember there was some user named NEOdraconix or something like that, that asked for help in Gaza, hopefully still alive somehow. They had children with them…
I think it was more commenting on the rest of the world being occupied with the world cup and Israel using that distraction to attack, knowing the coverage will be more limited because of it. By all means take any joy or solace you can get.
like how heavily it wash pushed too. add in alittle iran war news too. its so unnatural how much airtime its getting, when the past events dint even get noticed by news that much. of course INFANTINO is all in for the distraciton.

I’m sorry, are you suggesting that past World Cup events weren’t “on the news”, when 5 billion people watched the 2022 tournament?!
