I browse different lemmy instances usually because the feed is always different. Was blown away when I recently went to lemmy.today, no clue when they did the change but whoever is in charge of the design has my admiration! (chef’s kiss)

Edit: just scrolled down and realized rule 3, don’t know why I thought this was a generic pic community lol (must’ve confused what I was seeing posts from). I’ll try to find a place to crosspost or repost if I need to or a mod boots it out.

it’s quite crazy the contrast between .world, .ml, and .today. I kinda like it because if the lemmyverse does grow it means I can still keep to smaller instances and not feel overwhelmed like with Reddit. The only thing I don’t enjoy is not knowing if people can see my replies or comments since there was no point in wasting my time posting if it’s blocked for some strange reason.

Support small instances, the admins really appreciate getting new users, and it keeps the ecosystem healthy. Also it keeps moderation in check. If some instances are being too hard, there are options for users to go to. But only if those smaller instances feel motivated to keep going. So lets support them.

I also agree with you. Its hard right now to know what instances are blocking what. How are users supposed to keep track of this? Its like small islands with different cultures, and a new user have no idea before signing up. Would be nice if there was a place that would describe each instance attitude to moderation and who they are not federating with, and for what reason.
