This table was painted in 1522 and was part of the use of the Matter of Britain by HenryVIII. The Tudors celebrated their descent from the Welsh Kings to secure better support for themselves. Note the Tudor Rose in the centre.

Gorgeous! It’s so funny to me that even though the round table is explicitly a symbol of equality, they still felt the need to add a throne, a crown, an orb and cross, and a purple robe, all symbols of heirarchical power over others.
