Reflecting on this incident in an interview, Justin Ryder, an obesity and diabetes researcher at Northwestern University and Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, who was one of the ejected attendees, said, “I have great concerns. Censorship in any form, but particularly at a scientific meeting of, I would, say some of the most well-known and respected people in the field, is quite disturbing.”
