So for someone who has a microwave that only works in minutes and actual seconds, meaning 59 is the highest my seconds can go, before the minute counter is increased. Do these microwaves just work in terms of 100 seconds? So if you input 10:00 it’s not actually 10 minutes but rather 1000 seconds, meaning it’s now 16:40 on a “correct” microwave?

0·28 days agoI’m glad that AI has not reached the stage of “if the internet disappeared” yet, because I work in IT and I don’t think I could get through a workday without the internet, but for AI I wouldn’t notice a difference, as all it does is transcribe my conversations, which I already do manually anyway.

News@lemmy.world•Dad fatally shot his wife and 6 kids before setting their Michigan home on fire and killing himself, authorities say
6·1 month agoI agree, but what’s really weird for me is this part:
he wouldn’t say whether a firearm has been recovered from the fire-damaged residence
Yet the autopsies show that they were all shot. I imagine that the autopsies also show that he was the one to do it based on time of death, but odd that the article doesn’t present that evidence.
CSAM is more accurate as H2O is more accurate instead of water or NaCl is for salt. Doesn’t mean that you have to use it, and when the word pornography is used after the word child, everyone who is sane should know that it’s wrong
While I agree that you shouldn’t short the worker, it also shouldn’t be the customers responsibility to pay extra for the worker. Your argument kind of goes out the window when you look at other jobs where people also get paid minimum wage, but don’t get tips. Why should waiters/waitresses get tips when others don’t? Does the chef not deserve tips too? What about the busser?
The issue isn’t sunlight but rather hours of the day. No matter how early or late you work, the hours don’t change
Tenet? If it is that one, I also enjoyed it

I mean as far as I know, we also let other animals cross our borders. I have yet to see someone deport an animal cause it crossed a country border

No matter how good you are at this, it will always cost at least a second and in life threatening situations I was taught that every second counts
