  • The criminal prosecution is simply claiming that he drove people to work across state lines. People who he is alleged to have known were in the country illegally.

    Probably the average American has no idea that’s a crime of any sort. I think I could probably convince most Americans that it shouldn’t be a crime, because it really shouldn’t be.

    The police officers who pulled him over didn’t even give him a ticket. That’s an indication of how serious a crime this is.

    The government offered a plea deal to the person who planned and concocted the idea in order to charge Abrego Garcia. They offered to let the ringleader (as much as you can be one in this situation) off the hook in order to charge some random driver.







  • I’ve worked with AI, off and on, for over 20 years now. The thing is, I would argue that it’s always been the same. The point of AI has always been to take the place of humans. It has always been a scary line of research with profound implications for the future.

    The biggest difference now, I would argue is the accessibility. It used to be that only academics and experts could use it, but now that it uses a natural language interface, any dumb assholes and any bad actors can easily use it. And they do. In droves.
