This is even dumber/more nefarious than that. They want this at the OS level. So I guess even if you are using something offline and want it air-gapped, these fucking geniuses want age verification?
All I can say to them is: go fuck yourselves.

As I’ve seen someone ask - what is the age of root? Are you going to get prompted for your age when you run sudo?
And are people seriously proposing every single time you create any user, including service level users, that there is some age restriction on that user? What about all the users that can exist inside containers? What about contexts like AWS where you have some user assume a role?
And that’s not even getting into the hundreds (thousands?) of Linux distros and BSDs.
As I’ve seen someone else observe - Linux is not even an OS; it’s a kernel. What’s to keep people from just releasing and compiling their own sets of tools for managing/creating users and login, etc. If there is something proposed about actually doing this for Linux the kernel, I’m sure patches would emerge nearly immediately.
I saw some of Lunduke’s commenters saying this isn’t like the 00s or whatever where some clueless tech-illiterate (and older) politician is wanting something, this is more nefarious, etc. and of course these days, everything is different (sigh, no it fucking isn’t).
Clearly, they must not know about or be forgetting things like the Clipper Chip and the battle over PGP or the V-chip in the 90s. There were people that were quite tech-savvy and in politics proposing things people didn’t really want or need way back then, too. This is not all that new. The control freaks with bad ideas who are not really all that tech illiterate were around 30 years ago, too. At least.

This is just so dumb and the fact that it’s coming from Democrats feeds right into the rage-bait winger types like Lunduke.

That “blatantly illegal” part should be a key part of every headline dealing with this anti-American treachery.

He will just never get over the fact that he lost in 2020. And he’s willing to make all of America suffer for his butthurt.

Sucks even more he cannot be thrown in prison ASAP.

It’s so weird how wingers kept claiming the country was “full” when it came to the “invasion” from South and Central America, or non-whites from other countries.
But I guess 4500 people a month is not an “invasion” in this instance?
🤔

Nah, I’m quite sure it’s an antifa BLM drag queen working for ACORN.

Yeah, no kidding. It’s probably only Republican voters finally coming around to understanding how Pedonald’s illegal tariffs work.
We were telling them last year, but of course they didn’t listen. Because dog forbid they should listen to a liberal telling them something.

Interesting that he seemingly has some awareness about how much ICE is detested. He’s so close to figuring it out.

“Why?” is a great question in relation to nearly everything related to ICE.
Look, I get the idea of having a controlled border and knowing who is here legally and so on. There are many ways to do that that do not involve sending in armed goons to parade city streets in locales that have pissed off Dumb Leader.

I’ve always had distain for conspiracy theories
I totally am with you. However, there is definitely quite a range in the theories. And it’s probably a bit naive to always fall for the narratives handed down by suspect elites on any given matter, some of them better known as “coincidence theories”.
Some “theories” later turned out to be true. It’s quite a distance between the findings of the Church Committee, for example, or what came out of Iran/Contra, or the Pentagon Papers, or the Panama Papers, as contrasted with rando nonsense like “Nazis built bases on the moon”.
Unfortunately, it’s hard to thread that needle I guess. People jump from the findings on Tuskagee and go feet-first into assuming Fauci did something illegal in Wuhan and/or that Covid was fake/“just a flu” and this was all a trial run/experiment to institute the New World Order and/or that mRNA vaccines were going to kill you or whatever…I mean, so many people just went buck wild during Covid.

“Experts, schmexperts. I’m on the salt and beef diet, and that cures everything!”
– “wellness” morons, probably

I’m sure this is the way to solve the affordability crisis.

Let’s just hook up OpenClaw to our defense systems.

I have to laugh when I see similar pronouncements now, usually with a reference to Sidney Sweeney and how she is a signifier of boobs being back on the scene as popular. LOL, when weren’t they popular? I remember talking about this just last summer with someone I know and asking about Sweeney - are you telling me there was a time when a beautiful blonde with a great body and a huge chest was going to have a hard time in Hollywood because of those traits? Like someone casting parts was going to be like, “sorry, we’d hire you if you get a breast reduction and gained a lot more weight, because boobs are out and being fat is in”.
The rightwing chuds were all celebrating her as if it was only flat, unattractive and morbidly obese people on the screen just prior? What universe are they even living in?
Also: I’d love to know when or if any heterosexual men were consulted on whether boobs were “in style” or not. I cannot imagine any man that consulted his calendar or with some fashionistas as to whether they were “in style”. 🤣
I have a feeling such pronouncements are being made by groups that are not heterosexual men?

When the cons go on about the “free market” and competition, all they really are interested in is competition between individuals to be able to apply for wage slavery positions.
They are definitely NOT all that interested in having real competition between various entities. See their reactions to things like the post office, public schools and municipal wifi.
They absolutely HATE the idea of government entities setting a ceiling on prices. They agitate and agitate on stripping the post office and public schools and line up on the side of private tyrannies when it comes to muni wifi. They also don’t really give much of a damn when it comes to huge inequities of siren server companies, except to make some vague noises about how the “liberal” Big Tech (lol) is “cancelling” conservative speech (lmao even).
So, if they really value competition so fucking much, they’d welcome the additional competition, even if it’s from the government. They act like that’s “cheating” or something instead.

Most transparent administration in history.

It’s so cool that the Pedonald crime wave has been trying to defund/dismantle the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
