It’s been a while since I watched the prequels, but the idea I got was everyone knew the Jedi existed: they were major players in the galactic senate as you referenced. But very few people would ever get to see Jedis use force powers. They might see them brandish a lightsaber. Which to a culture who had space ships, blasters, and the ability to block lightsabers (even if the materials were rare), laser swords might have seemed antiquated and quaint.

And the powers the Jedi seemed to use in populated places the most often were mind powers which aren’t necessarily observable: even Luke watching Obi-Wan mind-trick a stormtrooper was baffled. Seeing Yoda throw ships around might be a thing only a handful of people saw in a century and became little more than legend.

Ooor I might be rationalizing a lot of plot holes without realizing it. :)

Looking over the wikipedia page on this mushroom and all the similar, very edible ones…Yeah I’m never foraging mushrooms.

I’m getting Pixel 8a ads and I usually trade-in my older a if I start having problems or the new one has a feature. 8a finally has wireless charging (7 mightve, was too soon) but it has this bullshit now. Damnit.

Ah the Chicken Singularity existed before Minecraft patches caused livestock animals to take damage if they were too crowded. Due to the unique way that you could spawn chickens: throwing eggs, you could very easily spawn chickens places they wouldn’t normally breed as easily. Or rather, it’s hard to breed animals when they are too crowded and overlapping.

So you make a small corral for your chickens. 3x3, 2x2 or 1x1 if you’re not here to fuck around. Then toss eggs at the walls (at least 2 high) en masse to spawn chickens. The floor is a hopper to catch eggs and feed that to a chest. Eventually you get tons and eggs and can get hundreds of chickens. Then when you need meat, simply attack the small space they can’t flee from and the hopper fills with meat and feathers.

You need this to be loaded for them to lay eggs so they had to be somewhat close to your base. And let me tell you, the NOISE of a chicken farm was something else. Hundreds of bawk-bawk-bawks continuously. Had to mute the game when I did this. Also the load on the server for that many NPCs in a small area was pretty intense and could crash or slow down some servers.

I recall when you could create in Minecraft the chicken singularity. My partner was horrified and the server crashed.

Yeah. I find that a lot in very disparate genres, too. I pretty much have to look up anyone I like more than a little now.

I see the judges/jury also missed the point of the exhibit. Or rather, they are now part of it.

Yeah it’s very effective. It has a big downside of people losing the pegs and then those addresses are “lost” but all that means is that 2 users can’t reliably connect and when they report to IT they will be asked if they had the correct peg. And I guess quarterly do a review for unused addresses that have pegs out and create new ones for lost pegs.

Life is so fucking wild. Like how the hell many weird mutations had to happen for this to work and not result in instant death?

Wasn’t the guy already let go? Sounds like wrongful termination if they can still do this
