My favorite “weird” addition is blue cheese crumbles. I also usually do the egg drop thing, green onions, maybe some spinach, chili oil… Oh! Butter (probably unsalted) can also add a nice, old creaminess.

The other way I like to go with ramen noodles is fried. Undercook them a smidge, drain the water, toss the noodles in a skillet with some oil, a scrambled egg, veggies, and other flavorings (soy sauce, fish sauce, garlic, red pepper…)

I live in a state with recreational marijuana, but my current employer’s policies specifically prohibit even medical marijuana, and I had to do a pre-employment drug test. Looking for a better job, but I’ve exhausted unemployment and all my savings, so it pays the bills for now.

I work from home and don’t have much of a social life. They’re desperate for a break from me.

HAHAHAHA! I know, I know, I’m getting a lot of my food from the food bank lately, so I feel extra terrible about throwing food away. I hadn’t really looked closely at them until taking those pictures today, and I already tossed the second one. Since they’re fermented, white sediment is normal and expected, but I just don’t know if that’s what I’m seeing at the top of the first jar, or if it’s something else.

Whole baby dills are my favorite. I think the brand I like best is also fermented?

Anyway, I went on a bit of a pickle bender quite some time ago, bought all sorts of pickles to find my favorite. I somehow wound up with 2 open jars and 1 unopened, all of my favorite. After some time had passed, the jars that had been open began developing some stuff on the sides of the jar above the water line. Since they’re fermented to begin with, and the brine is supposed to be cloudy I imagine it’s totally normal and still safe to eat, but it’s weirded me out, and now they’ve been sitting in my fridge for over a year because I feel guilty throwing them away until I know for sure, and I can’t open the third jar knowing I already have 2 open jars.

I recently wound up with a ~$300 ER bill while unemployed for an extended period. I tried to negotiate a payment plan, and they insisted the minimum payment was $100/month. So, they got zero.

Would it be their preferred name or legal name? What about people who go by different names in different contexts? For example, William at work, but Bill with friends & family? Or stage names? Or professional titles?

Wow so I read your link, and I don’t see anywhere that it explicitly says it was caused by the massage gun, just that it occurred after use of one, and that it may have be the cause or at least contributed to it. Strenuous exercise seems to be a common cause, and since the reported case was someone training with a coach, strenuous exercise doesn’t seem that far fetched. But you are correct that the OP article explicitly claims the massage gun caused the rhabdomyolysis.

My wild ones pretty much just want to get away from me, but I’m starting to think domestic animals seem to know that they don’t get the chance to escape us, and I think that takes away a lot of the “flight” and we get more “fight” as a result. I’ve been hurt way more by cats and dogs than anything wild.

My focus is specifically cats, mostly kittens. I’ve fostered both friendly and feral moms with young kittens and have only been bitten by the friendly ones. I need to check on the kittens daily to weigh them, and feral moms have been all “flight” when I reach in to borrow their babies, letting me do whatever as long as I leave her alone. In my experience, it’s only been the friendlier moms that sometimes get defensive of their babies.

I think it depends on the beach. If it’s somewhere with lots of other people, somewhere super accessible, then I kinda expect it. But if it’s a less populated beach, maybe one that’s more difficult to get to, I probably chose it in hopes of listening to nature.

Thanks to some unexpected health issues, I drained the savings, and am now borrowing from family. Hooray.

I’m not in tech, but the last time I was unemployed, I was able to reach out to a few temp/staffing agencies and at least had something to keep me afloat pretty quickly. This time around, I’ve only received a response from a single temp agency. They’ve sent me on a few interviews over the past month, but still no actual job offer yet.

18 months here. Initially, I figured I’d enjoy a few months off thanks to severance + unemployment, but then, when it was about time to get serious about finding work again, I was diagnosed with cancer. I’m in remission now, but my savings is completely gone and I’m borrowing money from family. A tent is definitely growing more appealing.

Yeah, that (lack of) friction makes a huge difference though, and is the only reason I wish I had a thigh gap. I do find that the more athletic/activewear fabrics tend to hold up longer, while the “buttery”/loungewear fabrics wear out faster.

Do your thighs rub together when you walk? The reason basically every pair of pants I’ve ever owned got tossed was because they eventually get holes in the inner thighs. I always wash almost all of my clothes cold/gentle & air dry.
