Sounds like a normal teenage relationship to me. I was an anxious partner in my early dating life as well, and catch myself getting that way occasionally still. The important part is that you’re aware of it and can work to try to stop feeling that way, or at least reacting to it on the moment. Talk to him about it, get his perspective on the situation.
