Teenagers are also people, and are closer to adults where they have their needs and wants. This goes against their safety, by duming them down. Its only a while since theyre going to consider under 25s as children as well - “for the peoples own good”.
Exactly, it makes no sense to just stop spreading factual information. The people must know the truth, and by saying that it was already known is honestly naïve. This kind of behaviour must stop, as all it does is disregard the actual threat.

Exactly, this is basically finding excuses to justify these actions. A treatment treats a condition, yet what does this treat - an ego of an person apparently.
Children are not the only ones being harmed here. This selective focus is only going to destroy the perception of other groups in terms of harm. Teenagers, young people, old people are also being harmed here - it is by design, and its everyone.

Why is this a secondary response? The situation at hand is specifically focused on the children and also teens. What about their consent? Their freedom? Their identity? The problems seemed to arise only when they targeted adults, otherwise the ageism seemed just “fine”. Fake quotes on how it “doesnt even help them” is yet another brick thrown back around. There is no room for ageism here, lets be real, this situation is harmful for all.
It is essentially what ignorance does. Adults are not the centre of attention here, children and also teens (which are most definitively lumped it aswell) are also people; let’s not forget that.
