I never had a doubt since more than half a century about the USA. it’s a third world country with too much weapons and money in the hands of greedy Hillbillies. Trump is only a logical consequence of it.

That is the point. I tested almost all existing browsers since a quarter century now and the mencioned are the best for me and my needs. Simple philosophy, search, compare and finding something better, use it, more if it is an EU product.

I’m happy with Vivaldi since over 10 Years and Zen as second, both European Browsers which don’t sell my data and my soul. Ethics respect the user and transparency are very important for me and Brave don’t offer it, but shady business models. Thanks

The rare occasions when I visit Hacker News I do it because IT information all other themes there don’t bother me, apart in this themes there are better publications out there. For general and policy news there are other not biased sources.

It isn’t an argument, because there are almost 50 chat alternatives out there, it’s like saying you have to use VW or BMW. To communicate with unknown people there are forums or an fediverse instance like Lemmy or Mastodon, If you want to communicate with your friends or family any of the above proposed chats is enough, or use your phone for what it is, to make a call (yes, this finction still works in smartphones without any app).

I don’t even use an chat app in my Phone, when i want to communicate with my family or friends, I’do it in the old school methode with a call or an SMS/MMS, alternatively in a bar or at home with some beers, same as before phones without cable. I don’t need more than this.

The public TV normally has a homepage with news, documentaries, series and movies on demand for free (at least in the EU, use VPN or proxie if country restricted content) eg.RTVE in Spain or ARD/ZDF in Germany, same in Pluto TV which is free also a lot of free content in Rakuten TV. For music there is Bandcamp, https://www.internet-radio.com/, Pixabay (yes, it has also music, above free downloadable (all CC license) or also the FMA. Odysee also is growing a lot in last years with content creators which have emigrated from YT. Search content in your search engine, not in YT.

Certainly if you are looking for cat videos, clickbait shorts or AI slope, then there are really no alternatives to YT.
