Regardless, your main argument here that “real devs aren’t vibe coding,” is irrelevant, as the people in the original article don’t seem to be competent devs. It’s very possible they used AI-slop code; but, even if they didn’t, they did a piss-poor job so it might as well be insulted as such.

I view this as Naval commanders looking out for their personnel. Why would they risk escorting commercial activities if they’re not directly ordered to? That isn’t their primary mission/objective. The vibe coding thing is a meme that originated in what devs at Microsoft said about how they develop while using AI, if I recall correctly. So vibe-coding has become synonymous with using AI to write the majority of your code.

That’s not really a good example. He was fully masked and all the people involved were black (the bank teller who called the cops, the cops that showed up, etc.). He was also “sketchy” (from the bank teller’s perspective) with writing an awkward note to withdraw a large sum of money and that he wanted it done discreetly. It was still a fuck up on Bank of America’s part, but in this instance I give the bank teller some amount of understanding when the entire context is taken into considering. Ryan Coogler even said he was satisfied with how BoA apologized and whatnot.

I get it, I also agree Nintendo is an awful, greedy corporation that happens to make fun games from time to time. However, this is a pretty big deal in Japan. For a company to openly support a still quite socially, culturally taboo topic there, is pretty crazy to see.
