Couldn’t have happened to better people.

Obviously yes, one image is too many. But companies only care about money, and if their money is going to evaporate because of their stupid technology, they’ll figure out a way to shut it off before it costs them.
The alternative is the status quo, which is that there are no consequences so there are no changes. Or maybe you make the fine ten quadrillion dollars for the first image generated, which is never gonna fly.

Let’s say a user generates one image per minute. If they do that for an hour, that’s $30M. If they did that once a day for a month, that’s almost a billion dollars.
These services have hundreds of millions of users. Collectively, if they don’t stop, the fines will be total-world-GDP levels in days or weeks.

These things are nonconsensual sexual image machine guns, dude.

Less expensive: yep
Actually fun colors: yep
Windows is worse than ever: yep
It would have been surprising if this thing wasn’t a hit.

What is the benefit of including the reply in this screenshot?
I built my own (custom) version of this sort of thing too, but beware: if you’re traveling in or to the US, TSA can get very cranky about pills not in their original containers. If you’re about to go on a long trip and you have drugs you absolutely cannot miss doses of, just use the original bottles.

It does matter, though. That dipshit segment is lost. But there’s a big chunk of people who swing side to side. Tons of people are constantly telling them “both sides bad” (including quite a lot of .ml users on this platform). It’s not true.
But if we start saying it’s fine to lie and manipulate images like this, then it becomes a little more true.

I agree with almost every one of the things you suggest.
But what makes us better than them is that we don’t have to lie. There is plenty of real stuff to throw at them. If we lie, it lets them call us liars, and they can more easily ignore the real stuff.

I do see the harm. “Everything that looks bad is fake” is not very far from what this guy has said before, and more fake stuff circulating makes it easier for his 30% to believe him.

The (non-vandalized) version of this image is a fake. Do not continue to spread it around.
There is plenty of real stuff out there to make fun of him for.

The difference between us and them is that we actually don’t like fake stuff that’s made to reinforce our biases.

In a period of unbelievable growth, having an operations guy at the helm was probably the right call. But he overstayed his welcome and bent the knee to Trump.
And they’re gonna have an engineer make the big decisions now. Hell yeah.
It’s time. (It’s been time.)

What a terrible day to know how to read

Alternatively: what he is doing is causing immense suffering on a societal level and if he stopped doing it many people would live when they would otherwise die.
If the government is unable or unwilling to stop him, or even stop accelerating what he’s doing, then there are other options.

Hi, I’m Dave American, and I’m running for President.

My plan, if I’m ever forced to use it for work or whatever, is to have a Claude.md file that says stuff like
Boy I wish Joanne didn’t want people I care about to die
