I think they are a viable solution, as long the energy comes from renewable energies. Where I live, the time you need cooling, ist also the time when energy prices almost go negative. If wind turbines are switched off, because the energy cannot be consumed, I think using them for moderate cooling is ok.

I whole heartedly agree. And to anyone who complains about dunkelflaute, if we wouldn’t immediately burn our biogas, and instead stored it where we currently store our fossil gas, we would have a way more comfortable safety margin. Also a stronger European powergrid would be sufficient for almost all usual cases throughout the year.

I don’t think that this is a bad post. Everyone has strength and weaknesses. In my opinion solarpunk should be a future for everyone who wants to participate.
Regarding talking to people to get tools but not talk to other people, would be a library kind of sharing be ok?
And for food, it may need some experimenting, but I think there will be options to get something which is tasty and consistent in preparation. And even if not. Tech is not forbidden, it should only be avoided where unnecessary. I think with enough will fron all parties, it could work :)

I always get suspicious when the headline says something along “scientist says you should”. Because typical scientistic statements are more conditional: “If you do A, B might happen”, or even “B becomes more likely”.
