Technology@beehaw.org•Age Verification Laws Are Multiplying Like a Virus, and Your Linux Computer Might be Next
9·4 days agoBet Microsoft is behind this.
They don’t “reverse” the names, they use the billed order, so usually they ordered by how much they were paid.
The names of the poster are in the wrong order. They should be in order of importance so, Trump, Epstein, Gates, Bannon.

The only app that dosen’t work well is soundcloud that the tracking parameter is not recognized as so and I need to manual add characters to contaminate the parameter

0·6 days agoWe used to had folding bikes before, but my wife hate them because she always get her hands dirty while folding/unfolding and ruining her clothes. That’s on the table, but is going to need to be a magnificent apartment with the best view ever and under our budget to convince her.

0·6 days agoYou want something that is esthetically pleasant too, so you need to pay some designers/architects to chip in. Need security and resistance to the weather. All of that add up.
There’s this phenomenon called bike-shedding, about how because building a bike shedding looks simple, everyone thinks they know how to do it and feel that they to give feedback about it and the bike shedding is never built because of that.

0·6 days agoI’m trying to move to the city center of Sao Paulo and finding space to keep our e-bikes safe at night has been the biggest difficulty of the process. The majority of buildings don’t have parking space, that’s great imo, but they also don’t have space for bikes. The elevators are miniscule and the bikes can’t enter. And private parking buildings cost a fortune. Something like that with a reasonable price (or free with time restrictions even better) would be great

Technology@lemmy.world•BYD Reveals the ‘World’s Longest-Range EV’ as American Auto Industry Struggles to Keep PaceEnglish
3·7 days agoHow much is the average used by daily drives? What about the 90% percentile. Something like 1000km must be on the extremely tail that. The only distance I can think of 1000km is going to and back from São Paulo to Rio.
A 1000km range is a complete waste of resources.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Examples, when ethical concerns stopped scientific advances?
0·7 days agoThere was a pretty high corpus on research done based on nazi science on the effects of temperature on the human body that is forbidden to use as reference. Those reference could help scientific discoveries, but for kinda obvious reasons they can’t be used. I said kinda because they were used iirc until the 70’s, when people started to question the ethics of using them.
At first I tough that that was a big ass kid for being under 2yo.
I already told you: FUCK OFF!!

The government do. They want to know if you owe taxes
