Of the big instances, Lenmy dot ml has a reputation for being moderated in a biased way.
As long as there’s moderation, there will be bias. I agree with most of what you said though.

what a silly goose

It still shows a complete lack of solidarity with the rest of marginalized people, including those being ethnically cleansed inside the US, and to those being bombed, droned, sanctioned, starved, etc abroad. Sanders is a liberal Zionist, AOC is pro-imperialism in Latin America, and even Mamdani conceded a lot of nonsense to the right, even agreeing with gusanos that Cuba and Venezuela are dictatorships, doing his part in normalizing the atrocities we see now there by the US government. Mamdani is the best of the bunch by far and he’s still bad to us.

We believe in organizing as the primary means of achieving change, voting is just a very small part of what we do, but if these politicians want our votes shouldn’t they appeal to us? Our comrades in the US have a simple demand, no more genocide, no more wars, you don’t give us that much, you don’t get our vote. Or, if we’re so insignificant we can be ignored, then don’t removed about us not voting for you when you lose. Either way, it seems like being 99% hitler as opposed to 100% hitler isn’t good enough to win elections anymore, and that’s a good thing.

I find arguments like this a bit silly. I believe that religion has to be confined to personal life, and religious harm has to be reduced through a socialist government, but religious people killing others is an idealist argument. Religious people didn’t just kill because of ideals, but rather because of the material reality that gave rise to their religion. I personally believe that religion, like the state, might wither away through socialism, but just like the state, it’s about handling class contradictions and engaging through a historical and materialist lens, else we’re just being idealistic ourselves. Not only that, but practically speaking many of our comrades are religious, as long as they agree with us on examining society through diamat and commit to reducing religious harm, I don’t care if they pray or not. Let their religious views inspire them towards positive change, and influence their own religious communities through organizing.

It’s silly and arbitrary, but it may be very relevant for a good chunk of the US audience lol
To me it was a matter of getting tired of imperialist and bigoted stuff, before that I used one that styles itself as apolitical, naively thinking they’d be at least somewhat better than Reddit. But nope, same reactionary, racist shit.

cringe
I agree, I used to be a Duolingo user but over time they pushed me to seek alternatives and LingoDeer is such a better app. It’s probably the best in language learning apps at the moment.

Pain has a scientific definition, right?
Scientifically speaking, pain requires pain receptors, nerves and the like, so trees feel no pain. But the point that other people are trying to make, if I understand correctly, is that plants have agency and can perceive their environment and adapt in a way that’s not too dissimilar from animals, and you may think of the stimulus that causes them to adapt to survive as analogous to pain. Personally I find where we draw lines in scientific knowledge arbitrary at times, such as with some taxonomy, or how viruses are often not thought of as alive because they don’t fit a definition that’s man-made. So I can see why people would say plants may feel some kind of pain, just not the way we do as animals, and that depending on how we agree to define pain it may or may not count.
Well, if you want to talk about some Soviet vegetables, we can.
You do support the right of liberals to be moderate over my right to be alive and my country to not be invaded, based on your own words. You also don’t even know how to spell Uyghur, nor anything else on the matter.
If people are okay with, say, me and my family being genocided just because of where we were born, why should I care whether they identify as moderate or whatever else? Again, don’t agree with genocide and wars on our countries and you’re welcome. It’s not that much to ask lmao.
We have a very simple purity test, don’t support genocide or wars on the global south and we have no issue with you. If you can’t agree on that much then there’s no reason why we should accommodate you.

Yeah, it’s so frustrating talking to liberals about anything that requires good faith and having a better memory than a goldfish.
Also unrelated, but lovely name.
Unless energy prices go down a bunch I don’t see it being profitable, but I could be wrong
