  • It was basically exactly Reddit but with two noticeable AI features that were easy to ignore:

    1. An AI-generated summary of popular posts on the homepage
    2. Underneath every link post to an article was an AI summary, but on the app it was a collapsible section so collapsing it in one post would keep it collapsed for all.

I found the second one slightly handy, though, because when I was on Reddit I fell into the bad habit of posting after just reading headlines. With the AI summaries I could get more context and it often lead me to opening more articles than I would have without it.

  • I got diagnosed last year at 30 years old. I had lower abdominal pain that lasted a little over a month that I figured was IBS from a traumatic life event that recently happened. It was slowly improving until one day I woke up in extreme abdominal pain. There wound up being a mass at the very start of my large intestine.

The doctors found no obvious reasons as to why it happened- no family history, no substance abuse, no excessive energy drink or alcohol consumption. I now make a large effort to cut out as much processed food in my diet as I can.

  • Years ago I went to one of those Halloween haunted house-type things where you walk from room to room and have people in scary costumes scare you. Each room was separated by some plastic flaps hanging in the doorway. For the finale, you end up getting chased by one of the actors with a chainsaw.

As we were running away, I began to feel bad that the actor was getting smacked with the flaps closing behind us, so I started to hold them open. I think I probably confused the actor a little bit. This post reminded me of that experience.
