Same here! The family computer’s first modem was 14.4Kbps. The sound of it connecting is burned into my memory.

cybersecurity@infosec.pub•What's your opinion on CEH & EC Council
0·3 months agoI had a CEH but let it expire, like you. I’ve taken & passed a handful of certifications over several years. (Haven’t failed one yet.) More value and higher quality content, both academic and practical, can be found in other certification programs. CompTIA Security+ would be a prime example. It’s roughly “entry level” much like CEH.

0·2 years agoAs you suggested, I suspect it’s the rare combination of additional extensions that’s contributing to your uniqueness in a fingerprinting sense.

0·2 years agoFirefox’s built in “Enhanced Tracking Protection” already does a lot of this work for you, especially if you select “strict mode.” Go ahead and try this extension if you prefer. But remember to be selective with the extensions you add to your browser in general, as they also present an opportunity to introduce vulnerabilities.

0·2 years agoTildes fits that description. The posts are text-only or links to websites. No memes.
I use that site in addition to Lemmy, not as a replacement but a supplement. It’s just a different flavor of discussion.
It’s invite-only but I can give you an invitation code if you’re interested. Take a look, see if you like it, and send me a private message if you want an invitation.

I didn’t downvote your comment but I’m American and most of us are sick of it too. We’re trying. I vote in every election.
