Or otherwise something drawing attention to the problems that exist in the world today, as I feel that’s the big antithesis to everything TESCREALists worry about (besides the racism, of course).

0·2 months agoI had a nifty idea. So markets are like, totally cool, connecting things to other things and it’s all totally optimal. So what if we set up some kind of ‘altruism market’? Instead of a bloated inefficient EA organisation centrally planning where funds should be allocated and deciding which causes are the most effective, we could open it up so that the savviest donors can select the best destination for their funds directly, and skip all the overhead. We could run that for a while and then, if it turns out that donkey sanctuaries are able to attract enough donations to continue operating in the Market of Altruism, then we can only rationally conclude that a donkey sanctuary is the most Effective Altruism.

A mere four paragraphs after noting the claims of AI labs “most certainly cannot be” taken at face value, half of those being just a blockquote, the author nonchalantly asserts that OpenAI’s attack on HuggingFace was the result of software “going rogue”. Bravo!
