Dropping a nuclear bomb is essentially a world ending event at this point. Pakistan shares a border with Iran, they have nukes. China and Russia also have nukes.
I think the immediate reaction in the US will be of disgust and fear. I think most MAGA people would be against dropping a nuke.

Yeah. I don’t expect anyone to help me with anything. I try my best to be available to people and I have a pretty active social life.
I have dozens of cousins who I’ve known and been friends with since I was born. I have family friends that I have some vague memories of us taking baths together. I have a group of friends I’ve known since middle school (~25 years ago) that probably includes 7 people. I have some friends who I’ve known since college which could be 2 to 15 people depending on how I’m feeling that day. I am still in touch with 5 friends from med school and maybe 4 friends from residency and I’ve got a bunch of friends I’ve developed in the last few years.
Dang, typing that all out made me feel incredibly blessed.
It’s funny, if you ask me most days, I’ll tell you dudes are lame and women are more interesting to talk to, but tbh most of my closest and longest running friendships are with dudes. Dudes just need an activity. They don’t need to talk to each other. The vast majority of my male friendships at least originally centered on some activities like basketball, playing Warhammer 40k, playing video games, being in med school/residency.
As far as being emotionally vulnerable with another man, I think maybe like 3-4 guys in total. I am pretty emotionally closed off. I’m more of a “bust your balls” type of friend.

Tbh I buy that. If you’re capable of finding stuff you like to engage with, you’re more likely to buy other products related to the things you engage with.
Ok summers are bad now but man there was something special about walking outside on a sunny day with some of your friends and no plans. Even as an adult, no plans and good weather is a recipe for a good time.
I think the subtle difference of opinion is that I don’t think having having a franchise and money is a good enough excuse to make a movie. That’s how corporations make decisions. Tbh that “expand the franchise” mentality is what’s wrong with modern media. I think franchises should die. We don’t need more Star Wars movies. We need new ideas.
Yeah tbh there’s actually been a bit of a revival in the movie space ever since the Marvel universe had its final moment. Everything Everywhere All At Once is actually legitimately one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. One Battle After Another, Eddington, even smaller movies like Mickey 17. So clearly creativity isn’t dead.
I never watched Andor, not because I don’t think it’s probably good, but because it probably didn’t need the Star Wars license to be good. I’ve heard there anti capitalist themes in there and I just have a hard time seeing anti capitalist themes in mass market media as being genuine. It’s like buying a Che Guevara shirt from Urban Outfitters.
Is that true? I’ve never read that. I also think George Lucas shouldn’t have made sequels either.

I guess a decade of slop media where nothing is sacred and everything must be exploited has hardened my heart from caring about anything anymore. A younger me cared about why the Star Wars sequels are bad or that they cancelled Firefly too quickly or that Community fired Dan Harmon. But all these properties are just tools of corpo oppression at this point. Art doesn’t have the same impact if they are just trying to squeeze every last dollar out of them.
