An interview works both ways. If that’s how they consider humans, then you dodged a bullet.

My answers to “Would you explain this gap in your resume?”:
- Relevancy: “I only included relevant experience on the copy of my resume that you received.” Hiking experience isn’t relevant. Couch experience isn’t relevant. Time spent as the forgotten pawn in the machinations of capitalism isn’t relevant.
- Privacy: “I am not required to disclose medical information, and will not be discussing this matter any further.”
- Fuck 'em: “No.”
Few things make me go “aww” for Calvin like this arc :(
Makes me think of the time I was running a stripped down laptop motherboard as a server for a while. Was given a laptop with a broken screen, but it had a wired NIC, so I pulled the screen off, along with any other component that wasn’t necessary, and shoved it behind a TV where it was close to the router. Ran on that thing for years before being able to afford better equipment.
An underrated feature of the laptop server: built-in UPS!

133·1 month agoMy favorite part is that it keeps getting bigger as you continue shaking it, eventually resulting in a big-ass cursor that can’t be contained in one display lol
…What? I was bored…

0·1 month agoWould be a good idea to check how close you are to the write limit, then. Pricier cards have a higher write limit, but all SD cards are limited.
Luckily, once you hit the limit, it turns read-only, so you can move to a new card pretty easy, but it will happen eventually.
Neat to know you’ve got a longer life out of the card you bought, though! I’ll have to look into cards that have a higher write limit for my next Pi project!

0·2 months agoBeware, HomeAssistant absolutely eats SD cards.
A pi booting from an SD card is a good way to test it out, but HA does so much logging and other writing to storage that the write limit on the card gets used up very quickly. Took my setup only like a month or two to die when I first started with HA.
If you want to run HAOS on a pi long-term, you will need to set up a different boot drive that can handle more lifetime writes.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Those of you with bathrooms attached to your bedroom, do you normally keep the door open or closed while you sleep and what's your reasoning?English
0·2 months agoClosed. It’s a double-master apartment, and activity from the other bathroom gets echoed and amplified through my bathroom.
This is the most Aperture-ass warning sign ever, and I need it in my life immediately.

Pretty good so far. I haven’t had a job that makes me wish for a workplace accident in years.
