I know tech billionaires and entrepreneurs are the real culprit here, but people also need to resist the temptation to use proprietary apps like Venmo and Chime. I’m sure Lemmy users are a little better in that regard.

Also I want to correct what I said earlier about the messages I saw in each browser. In Firefox, I get “Secure Connection Failed” when just typing something random which should be searched by DuckDuckGo. In Mullvad Browser, I get “Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.” when it should just search on DDG.

I even tried doing this while split tunneling and I still couldn’t get anything.

Edit: I think I might have found the root of the problem. I noticed the time/date on my laptop is wrong. I’m running the latest version of Fedora Silver blue. I tried setting time to be automatic with sudo timedatectl set-ntp true but it did not update the time.

I get site cannot be found on both. My privacy settings are unchanged. Default settings in Mullvad Browser. Firefox I do have max for DNS but never had an issue.

People can say they’re not paranoid and actually be telling the truth (in the eyes of others not just their own).

I should have mentioned this in my post, but I am not a paranoid individual. I am perfectly sane and there are no mental health issues.
