[Judge] Fagan wrote in his judgment, released on Tuesday, that “Fuk Israel” was “a curse against a foreign state”. He also criticised the controversial International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism as “detached from reality” and “inept”.
Farhat’s case came before Fagan this year when the state tried and failed to cast him as a future terror threat based on what Fagan called the same “misconception” about his motivation.
What a relief that a high-level judge can bring some sanity to the ‘anti-semitic’ narrative being used to silence people who disapprove of Israel’s politics and practices.
Gregory Andrews makes some relevant comments about this case: https://www.lyrebirddreaming.com/post/80-of-australians-are-not-antisemitic?cid=041a981b-853b-4355-a7b0-1182c033c5f6
Israel is a state. Zionism is a political ideology. Jewish people are people. Conflating them is intellectually dishonest, politically dangerous and, as this case shows, capable of producing real injustice.
Fuck yeah!
And shame on Albanese for buying into the bullshit.
He isn’t buying this bullshit, he know it is bullshit and still support it
