Most of the evidence they are citing here has nothing to do with actual real poor people. If you have a full time job and are buying a house, a new car, light aircraft (???), jewellery, cosmetics, can afford to travel overseas and enrol your kids in “expensive” private schools then you were never poor (or at the very least not recently).
Meanwhile they describe an extra $20 a fortnight for rent assistance as a “hefty increase”. The guy who wrote this article has absolutely no clue, probably because he lives in France and is completely detached from the reality here.
Some obvious cherry picking going on here.
