Would this be worse for blood sugar spikes or is the small gap in between negligible

I have Type 2 Diabetes and the advice I have been given by my dietitian is to balance macronutrients in meals and snacks. Based on that advice, your idea seems like a bad one.

I’ve seen it generally recommended to sequence protein and fiber before anything else in the meal. So yes eating your carbs an hour earlier would in fact be worse for your blood sugar.

I’m not sure how it would be impacted if you ate the carbs an hour later though.

I’m inclined to say yes. Separating the types of stuff which needs to be digested makes it easier to produce the required acid. This reduces the chances of developing digestive issues. Theoretically.

at least when it comes to meat and fibers i’ve read (16? years ago) that ‘dilluting’ the meat with fibers might be the reason why some cancertypes are rarer with a fiber-rich diet. so seperating them by lunch and dinner would be bad.

More recently I’ve been told it might be better to avoid eating meat or proteins in general for evening meals. Having to digest it through the night might also influence cancer chances due to the stress.

From a dental health standpoint it’s worse because you’re having more individual meals.
