I don’t usually need Garfield comics explained. But this one has that kind of Far Side comic baffling context vibes about it.

Apteryx seems to be a genus of flightless birds endemic to New Zealand, basically a Kiwi bird. Is that the whole joke? “Surprise Garfield! You’re in New Zealand.” I don’t usually expect big laughs from Garfield, but this one is bizarre.
