By mid-September, we received available dates at these arenas through the end of the year. But once they found out these were my benefit shows for Palestine, those dates were suddenly off the table.

The doors were closed. The conversations were all different, but the result was the same. The shows were not going to be allowed to happen in these venues.

I’m told suggesting that zionism has any power in the US is antisemitic and a trope. But then stuff like this pops up.

“From the beginning, our plan was to bring this tour home to the U.S.

But after weeks of reaching out, nine major American arenas have turned us down.

Madison Square Garden. Prudential Center. Barclays Center. UBS Arena. Intuit Dome. Kia Forum. Crypto.com Arena. Chase Center. Climate Pledge Arena. Here’s what happened…

you can thank the pedophile friend of Epstein/ also a zionist no surprise, robert kraft who blacklisted him from the industry/ stadiums in the US.

He can play in my garage. I ain’t got a sound system. Or really anything, but if the big venues won’t put him up. Might as well do smaller more intimate locations.

Something down to earth like that is honestly what we need more these days.

Let men be men. Let us not make differences but fair commonality.

Right. His message is great, but I can’t stand the arenas only touring bands/artists do these days.

You can do an American tour. You’ll just have to play places that hold fewer than 20-60k people.

    No US arena tour…

Because all our biggest venues are privately owned by billionaires even though residents pay for them via taxes and get insanely overcharged just by walking near one.

The real problem here is that, cities/states need to just say fuck it and take them.

Immanent Domain, calculate the offered price as value minus what to government and taxpayers already paid for it.

Then the already existing laws would prevent this bullshit.

    Edit:

As a bonus, they wouldn’t be named bullshit like “crypto(dot)com Arena”…

It’s fucked up I didn’t even register how dystopian that is when I quoted it, it’s just so normalized these days.

None of this uber capitalist bullshit has to happen, we can just tell em to fuck off and take our resources back.

Is this a nice thing for a celebrity to do or is there something shitty going on?

Put up a bunch of stops in Canada with a ton of Canadian artists and I’ll show up. I’m still boycotting the US, but I’ll gladly make a minor exception for him and for Palestine if its otherwise a non-American lineup.

I’d uh, watch it on the nationalism bud. Not working out real well here. You’ve got a lot more in common with most Americans than either of us do with our respective governments. Like… boycotting Kid Rock and Metallica etc makes sense, lumping this guy in there is counterproductive, preemptively purity testing his potential lineup is giving me flashbacks to Freedom Fries

I already said I’d make an exception for him and the Palestinian plight. None of that changes the fact that we are being directly threatened by a neighbour. Equating this with freedom fries tells me you’ve lost the plot.

The strong “we” there is the nationalism I was warning against again. Macklemore, like most people, is an individual. I’m glad you’re able to judge him on his own merits. I can’t give exact numbers, but can guarantee most Americans have no interest in threatening you. That’s being done by maybe a few thousand people who are threatening the rest of us too. I’m old, remember “Freedom Fries” all too well, and just don’t like watching history repeat itself yet again. This was not meant as a judgment but a warning, and I sincerely hope you can avoid the same pitfalls that made “us” “your” enemy in the first place. Good luck up there.

I don’t give a single fuck how many Americans have no interest in threatening Canada. I have a great deal of interest in how many are willing to stop it. Right now, to all intents and purposes, that number is zero.

Fuck you and your cautionary tale. Canada has lived with the cautionary tale of America for our entire existence and before. For all Carney’s faults, at least his solution to a threat from a former ally is to make new allies, not try to bully or ‘warn’ Canada and Canadians like has happened by America so many times before, and now you. We don’t need your fucking history lesson. I spent half a day at work watching two towers and the illusion of freedom fall in America. I saw Newfoundlanders take in more Americans than seemed possible when American airspace was shut down. We lived through this tragedy right beside you and less than 30 years later got subjected to all this bullshit over the last two years. WE KNOW.

Canadians are very polite until you cross a line. It’s a couple paces behind you. Step back.

This reads like a slightly drunk “tarps off bud”, not looking to fight with you man. I prefer learning from others mistakes, but some we just have to make for ourselves and “history repeats itself” is a classic for a reason. Good luck up there, eh?

You are so fucking obtuse, I have to believe you suffered under the American education system. What in there, or the previous posters comments, makes you believe we suffer from the same lack of discrimination that you and the leaders of your country seem to share? The previous poster explicitly gave Mackelmore a pass because of the positive actions he’s taken. I mentioned our national leader building new ties with willing partners rather than begging or railing at the feet of our abuser. We aren’t attacking an ally who disagreed with us, as in the case of “Freedom Fries” (by the way, frenching is the way fries are cut, so just another American educational self-own). We are refusing to take bullshit from a former close and now untrustworthy ally who is engaging in economic warfare with us after verbally threatening our sovereignty. We watch America and its antics very closely up here, much like someone would watch the 800 lb gorilla in the room, and for the same reason. We don’t need you to tell us to watch you and learn from your mistakes. Watching you is an existential necessity for us. And yes, history does repeat itself. Go read some and apply the lessons learned.

the US and UK are compromised and captured by Epstein Class/Israel. Thats the thanks they got for helping save the Zionists in WW2. They average person has been sold out by their own unchristian ‘police’.

Half of London is owned by Russian Oligarchs

WW3 is Workers vs Billionaires and the billionaires hide behind propagandized mainstream media as well as fictional religion.

What better way to attack your opponent if they don’t even notice the attacks?

Goethe was right: ‘None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.’

They just upgraded the panopticon prison with flock cameras while we were at the rave/watching football/raising families…

Yeh, its ironic when artists get popular for getting involved in political movements that politicians refuse to get involved in. If ever there was need for more evidence that they do not represent their constituents, this is another piece.
