We’re in the great thaw now. Birds are becoming quite active again.
Fun fact: the house sparrow is THE most widely distributed bird species. They exist on every continent except Antarctica.

Sorry, I’m not a plant guy. I can say this is a medium sized bush in someone’s yard in northern Midwest USA.
