I mean, most ATMs in America don’t disperse them (except ones at casinos where they may have $100 bills). Why is it still being printed if no one uses it? Do stores even accept large quantities of either $50 or $100 bills upon purchasing stuff of high value (like iPhone, Switch 2, 8K TV, etc)?
Regarding normal purchases (groceries, eating out, markets): will they accept a $50 bill at face value for items that sum up close to it (i.e. $47) when they have the change? That denomination is not common even though it exists due to the fact ATMs cap out at $20 for cash withdrawals.
However, can you visit a bank just to ask if they have either $50 or $100 bills in stock? As in, say withdrawing large amounts (i.e. $8,000) consisting of both $50 / $100 bills, will they allow that? Cash exists for a reason like it has been for long time since it’s inception throughout history.
I handle $50 bills at work all the time. They are not rare. I’ve got one in my pocket right now.
