    I would love to believe this is going to ever be possible but I also remember why lock outs and operating hours were originally brought in and it’s mostly to do with pearl clutching assholes who chose to reside in a CBD near these places of business, after the fact, opposing anything that would otherwise interfere with noise and other stupid complaints.

    Maybe now the dust has settled and the big developers have already made bank with the changes so they no longer have opportunities or interest, and the enablers in the city council now are looking for a new teet to suckle from and realise the community and people have a role here they can exploit.

    Honestly, to make this viable and draw enough people to cover wages of any of these places you’d need to ensure transport is also available and operating 24/7 in and out of the cbd, otherwise it will only be local business for residents of the area for day to day needs as opposed to the larger tourist based businesses. Though this is ignoring private transport options so maybe it’s not that big an issue.
