Obvious reasons are:

  • Tax free (for the rich)
  • High rise buildings
  • Influencers paradise
  • Crude oil exports

I mean, have you been there before the war? If so, do you consider it an exciting country to revisit or never again due to how much of it is a concrete jungle since high rises & skyscrapers conquer the landscape, most of the “grass” is artificial.

    It’s not oberhyped if all you care about is over cunsumption and don’t care where the “luxury” you receive comes from.

    Was in Dubai because we destroyed a GT. Found it a decent place to be while we swapped it out. Wouldn’t pay to go.

    The “modern” part was a cityscape geared towards the rich.

    The old Souk section had a different vibe, but felt a little more honest touristy area.

    Hot, dry, don’t remember any grass outside the water park.

    I could feel the oppression from behind the veneer (not literal like a potemkin village) that they erect for westerners.
