A local Tennessee library board has fired the county’s top librarian for refusing to comply with its vote to move more than 100 LGBTQ books from the children’s to the adult section over claims that they promote “gender confusion.”
Are they still doing this? Huh. Yeah protect the kids for epstein’s pals you support running the country. By pal of course I mean someone compromised by Israel with tapes of them fucking children.
Kids should feel lots of fear and vulnerability and helplessness. Also doesn’t hurt if their teeth are fucked up.
Honestly, it does feel like “me too” and sexual education may represent an existential threat to the kid pipeline.

“Gender confusion?” You mean like the kid who can’t ask anyone in his life why he’s attracted to boys and not girls? Or the kid who constantly feels like she’s in a stolen, ill-fitting body and scares herself every time she looks in the mirror and a boy stares back?
You’d think books would be a sensible, non-judgemental way to find answers without painting a target on your back.
But that’s the real point of all this, isn’t it?
Yes. That is the point. Cruelty, sowing feelings of confusion and isolation, and ultimately causing suicide. Then using those suicide numbers to send out a warped and biased statistic suggesting that Trans people are killing themselves because being manipulated by the “evil, leftist, communist, socialist, Obama, Democrat agenda” to further justify more of their cruel acts and systematic genocide of the Trans population.
Seems likely the only books the members of that Tennessee Library Board read are ones at their level - little kids books. Maybe that’s why these dimwitted dingleberries are so invested in this asinine topic: because it will directly impact their preferred reading material.
I hope that librarian takes them to the cleaners for unfair termination.
Unfortunately, state legislators largely don’t face any consequences for losing in court. The damages are paid by the state, and they get fodder for the “The courts are all liberal deep-staters determined to corrupt the children” propaganda machine that raises money for their next election. Whenever they enact legislation that does pass judicial scrutiny, people start feeling its effects and, shockingly, get pissed about it. Much simpler to just endlessly pass unconstitutional bills that get shot down in court and complain that government doesn’t work and keep the culture war stoked. It’s a great system I really love it here 😑

Yep. That’s what they’re doing. These sinister people that want to deny rights and erase the existence of an entire group of people have learned one thing. That is they can weasel into the government and replace bodies to enact their hate. There are currently states that are trying to replace library boards with city and county officials.
It’s an attack on one of the most marginal and abused communities for sure. But to anyone that thinks they have no skin in this game, you’re wrong. It’s an attack on information and reality too. Librarians do have a union - looks like the largest is American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). I don’t know how much protection they really offer though.
Their labor doesn’t benefit Capital, so striking doesn’t really offer any benefits which means they lose the strongest bargaining card there is to play.
Good thing librarians aren’t afraid of letters cuz that’s a hell of an acronym. Can’t even pretend it’s a word.
The trouble is, librarians striking and thus preventing the libraries from functioning would only hand bookburning fascists exactly what they want.
Sounds like they need guns and I’m not talking about rifles. Give the librarians cannons, librarians love cannons.

Unfortunately, many professional librarians (those holding degrees in the field) are exempt managerial staff and are not protected by unions, especially in public libraries. At least in Canada anyway.
Hell, I would have moved it to the Adult section and made the biggest fucking display ever. Goddamn bigoted pricks!
Drag a shelf right into the entryway so it’s impossible to miss but also not really in either section, put the 100 books on it, and label it “BOOKS THE BOARD DOESN’T WANT YOU KIDS TO READ”.

Plenty of kids go to the library. When I worked in a public library, it’d be fun to check in books and find a stack of 20 toddler books on, say, “dinosaurs” or “dump trucks”. You could tell when someone’s kid went through a phase.
