    You can also try ice in your mouth. Which you could pull off at work and pretend you like chewing ice.

    Or, a rubber band snapping on your skin or a scrunchie snapping on your wrist.

    Works with any intense sensation (which is why self-harm is common - don’t do this during a work meeting).

    Usually they say to have a sour candy because, and I might be wrong, it triggers saliva production which is not something you usually do when in a heightened state and this helps trick your brain.
