    My poor UK brain went “Ah-ha, Linnet” until I saw it was a US post - and Google suggests the two species probably have no close genetic link.

    while birb disguising self as a tasty morsel of fruit seems counter intuitive to we fruit-eating species… we can’t catch birb & that accppiter over there who can catch birb don’t eat cherries so i guess it all works out

    Great shot! The house finch is damn near the perfect bird to pose on pink blossoms. Awesome find. Again, hopefully you can get some at peak bloom.
