      And yet there are many games that despite offering offline play still require an internet connection or require online download.

      Not much today, at least not with the expensive / interesting stuff. And you’ll have to live with the bugs and crashes, as nobody will fix the betas they are selling as products today.

        Depends how you define interesting. Out of all the games I have there is just one where I must have an Internet connection to play. Others only need it to update.

          Thank you! This is my pet peeve. “Gaming sucks these days”. No, the babes you okay, the companies you give your money suck. There are plenty of good games. Supporting toxic companies is a choice they are making.
