          86 means kills

          86 was coined as “get rid of” sometime in the 1920s or 1930s, it previously was used to indicate that an item was out of supply or stock and to 86 something was to make it disappear, it’s been used in media as slang used by gangsters planning to off someone

          86 has always meant kill, although it can also refer to less harsh ways to get rid of something
