He said he was recently in a satisfying relationship that really only ended because it was long distance. Yet, he confided, it still all “affects me as far as, like, confidence and wanting to approach new people, especially females”.

I don’t think your micropenis is entirely to blame here, chief edit: so are we not concerned by calling women females anymore?

I think this commenter is pointing out Mike’s cringey use of “females” and is just imprecise with their communication. Or am I one of their alt accounts defending myself from this ratioing? You be the judge. (I’m not)

Hm I mean as someone that had partners of multiple genders I also refer to them with male/female/nonbinary/trans partners when I objectively talk about something and I am not an incel. So for me this conclusion feels off tbh

Look, I get the incel version on fEmaLeS isn’t liked. But male/female is a perfectly valid way to refer to the 2 sexes. And if you aren’t doing some incel putting down women shit in using the word, I think acting like using female is the same as referring to someone as the n word is just stupid. There was nothing in that statement that sounded disrespectful to women.

I’m sorry, but I this just isn’t true. Calling women females is definitely an incel thing (although admittedly has come more into mainstream (male) lexicon because of the algorithms).

Female/male is an adjective. Woman/man is a noun. A woman is female (not in a TERF way, lol), but she isn’t a female any more than she is a short.

While I’ve not done a deep dive into the origins, incels pushed the female thing it seems largely because they don’t see women as human and want to make them sound like they’re a different species. It might have even started off from incels calling women “the female species” because that’s a term I’ve definitely seen before in those communities.

It objectifies the woman in question, showing that you have no respect to her as a person, and that you just see them as mating material, or a specimen.

        Even outside incel context: bad.

You are definitely being downvoted here by men who realize that they’ve used females as a noun and don’t want to admit why that was wrong. I’m sure I will be downvoted too, so let’s be friends!

He said he went in the opposite direction in part to speak out against the oft-invoked notion that people who have road rage, park incorrectly or drive “jacked-up trucks” do so because they are overcompensating for having micropenises.

“In reality,” Phillips said, “I believe that has nothing to do with it.”

Bro I know you got a micro-penis but you ain’t gotta cock-block our jokes like that

can you cockblock a micro penis? feels like it’d be too small, it’d get around you like the golden snitch. Dude could have penetrative sex with the dimple on a golfball.

    ok I’ll stop

I read a blog post years ago by a trans dude about how seeing how little the winner of a smallest penis contest gave a shit helped him not give a shit about his own dick situation.

so, i guess it’s nice for insecure people to see stuff like this?

I’m convinced body dysmorphia is linked to a lack of some public nudity at beaches etc where you can see fat, short, flabby etc all on display and realize you’re kinda normal, our only interaction with nudity is the body types seen in porn.

Its not specific to nudity at beaches, but more of a general thing. Expectations about what a body should look like and the extreme focus on a binary gender is incredibly harmful for everyone, since it creates boxes were everyone tries to fit into. When we AS society collectively work on demolishing these boxes it remives a lot of stress for everyone who previously had been excluded by these boxes. Realizing, that bodies are different and that it is no shame to look different from some arbitrary beauty standard, that’s unreachable for most people, is one of the best things that can happen to you.

You do occasionally see flaccid cocks in media and IRL, but only from guys confident enough to show it in the first place, which skews public perception a fair bit.

I went to school with a girl who’d only ever seen erections drawn. To her first boyfriend, she said “is that it?” the first time she saw a boner. It was a perfectly average cock, but she’d been expecting something the size of a cucumber

You do, but sometimes those aren’t real. I remember watching some behind the scenes stuff for Spartacus, which has a lot of flacid cocks on screen, and some of the actors wore prosthetic cocks instead of showing their own. I assume that larger men were more likely to show their own, and smaller men were more likely to have a prosthetic (though I have no evidence for this), so it still skews things.

A smaller penis is actually preferable as it’s easier to have your partner deepthroat. Meanwhile I’m over here only getting half stimulated. You know dude has a mean cunnilingus game.

Yeah if he is correct I wouldn’t want to shout that out myself but congrats on him for bringing awareness to an issue that I’m sure many men’s lives have been worse for. Not like we can control the size of any body part but it would make for difficult relationships. Yes I know size isn’t everything but that’s a bit different category of issue is all.

I think the full phrase is “size isn’t everything, its how you use it” but bro has nothing to use. As disabilities go, its one of the easier ones to have - able bodied and normal-looking with all five senses. It sucks that he misses out on sexual relationships, but so do loads of people with much worse conditions.

Also when you get older sometimes even as a guy you may not be able to perform, it happens. So as long as you have an understanding partner you can get around those times. Mean I’m unsure on actual performance issues but really penis in vagina, while most common (I think?) is only a bit of what couples can do for fun in that area. Hell I think there’s so much more besides that but not for this topic.

Yeah the jokes are universal too, there’s no getting away from it. Feminism has stood up against body shaming (with limited success) but even amongst many feminists there’s still small dick jokes

I’m not sure he misses out on sexual relationships at all though. Strap ons are a thing, and can be very effective (ask a lesbian, or a trans man!) and there are LOTS of ways to have sex that don’t involve the traditional act people tend to reduce it down to.

Also, disabled people also have sex. The idea that they don’t is ableist AF.

Of course many do, but many also don’t/can’t - I can declare that as an objective fact. Ableism indeed.
