Possibly the dullest appearing bird in the world: “like a sparrow but more grey”, but this one was looking quite cute this morning: just a shame my skills(*) and the light were not of the best.

(*) Finding I’d knocked the aperture dial to F13 from the lowest of F9 the day before, for instance, and not noticed.


I’m guessing the beak is all wrong for anything called a sparrow - a Dunnock is an eater of insects and the like, not seeds.
They’re definitely not the same family of birds, but share similar colors.
