That, if true (since you didn’t link any sources), sounds at worst like the kind of exploitation that Westerners like you and me rely on (from “undocumented” or even documented immigrants in your own country, resource extraction sectors in developing countries, cheap overseas manufacturing, etc) that allows us to make the illusion of a living wage from what little work we do in comparison.
